Groceries Here and Groceries There

In an effort to inform this month’s #MealsOnABudget project, MelMar and I brought similar shopping lists to our regular grocery stores in Atlantic Canada and Upstate NY. In cases when we couldn’t find the identical item, we matched size as accurately as possible. (When we couldn’t get similar sizes, the price per pound is indicated.)

This little activity was fun and quite revealing! Special thanks to BigB for his photography skills on the Canadian side of things!

Let me know if you’d like any other items ‘price checked’ on my next trip to the store. šŸ™‚ #MelHal

  1. Interesting! It’s really challenging to find identical items, isn’t it?

I feel like I’m paying too much. Especially when I shop at the store featured (albeit stealthily!) in your photos. šŸ˜‰ I think the comparative cost for cheese would be very eye opening.

    Nice post!
